We invite digital artists, game developers, and other innovative creatives from gaming industry to be part of our latest iteration of PlayUK in Kosovo, the Immersive Storylab workshop, taking place at the UBT Campus from 20 to 22 March 2020.
23 most successful applicants will have the opportunity to take part in this three- day workshop, this residency will give the participants the knowledge, skills and tools to begin to use new technology and interactivity in their work in a fundamental and transformative way. This intensive course, hosted by BRiGHTBLACK Productions and University UBT is led by immersive artists Simon Wilkinson and Myra Appannah. The three days are designed as a reboot for those currently working in non-interactive mediums, who want to develop their practice to work across a combination of platforms and create culture which gives audiences a meaningful role in adaptive works.
The course will cover practical and theoretical approaches to design, production and innovative use of immersive technologies including; Unity Games Engine, virtual reality, games system design, speculative design, transmedia design, 3D modelling, visual scripting, dealing with complexity in interactive narratives and liquid studio approaches to collaboration.
PlayUK is a Western Balkans arts platform that aims to support and develop the audio-visual sector in the region. Through creating connections between professionals from the UK and WB countries, this platform supports knowledge and skills transfer in the areas of virtual reality, augmented reality, visual effects and animation, creating a unique bridge between creatives and the ICT sector.

THE DECISION-MAKING PROCESS
The panel consisting of UK experts and the British Council, will choose up to 23 workshop participants; - participants are required to be fluent in English, have a track record of developed projects in films, games, animation and other related areas of the gaming industry sector, and show a good motivation to learn more in this area.
